خَيْرُ النَّاسِ أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ.
The best of people are the most beneficial to people.
ازْهَدْ فِي الدُّنْيَا يُحِبَّكَ اللَّهُ، وَازْهَدْ فِيمَا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ يُحِبَّكَ النَّاسُ.
Be indifferent to the world and Allah will love you; be indifferent to what is in the hands of people and the people will love you.
Umar ibn al-Khattab
إِنَّا نَجِدُ خَيْرَ الْأَمْوَالِ مَا وُضِعَ مَوْضِعَهُ، وَخَيْرَ الْعَقْلِ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى هُدًى أَوْ صَدَّ عَنْ رَدًى.
We find the best of wealth to be that which is placed where it belongs, and the best of intellect to be that which guides to right guidance or turns away from destruction.

Sufyaan ath-Thawree
ازْهَدْ فِي الدُّنْيَا يُحِبَّكَ اللَّهُ، وَازْهَدْ فِيمَا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ يُحِبَّكَ النَّاسُ.
Be indifferent to the world and Allah will love you; be indifferent to what is in the hands of people and the people will love you.

Imam Maalik
لَا أُحْسِنُ أَنْ أَقُولَ لَا أَدْرِي قَبْلَ أَنْ أَكُونَ عَالِمًا.
“I do not know” is half of knowledge, and I do not know how to say “I do not know” until I am first a scholar.

Imam Abu Haneefah
نَأْخُذُ بِقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَدَعُ أَقْوَالَنَا.
We take the statement of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and we leave our own statements.

The best of people are the most beneficial to people.
عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْكِتَابِ وَالسُّنَّةِ وَأَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ.
Hold fast to the Book, the Sunnah, and the people of knowledge; whoever dies upon that dies upon the natural disposition (fitrah).
الْمُؤْمِنُ يُبْتَلَى عَلَى قَدْرِ دِينِهِ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِي دِينِهِ صَلَابَةٌ زِيدَ فِي الْبَلَاءِ.
The believer is tried according to the strength of his faith; if there is firmness in his faith, his trial is increased.
الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ مَخُّ الْعِبَادَةِ، فَإِذَا صَفَا الْقَلْبُ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالْغِلِّ فَازَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ.
Supplication is the marrow of worship; when the heart is purified of shirk and malice, it attains the response.
مَنْ أَحَبَّ اللَّهَ كَفَاهُ اللَّهُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ، وَكَفَاهُ اللَّهُ كُلَّ مُهِمٍّ.
Whoever loves Allah, Allah suffices him from everything, and Allah takes care of every concern of his.
مَاذَا يَصْنَعُ أَعْدَائِي بِي؟ جَنَّتِي فِي صَدْرِي، دُخُولِي عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْفٌ، وَإِخْرَاجِي مِنْهُ هِجْرَةٌ، وَقَتْلِي شَهَادَةٌ.
What can my enemies do to me? My Paradise is in my heart; my imprisonment is a retreat (khalwah); my being killed is martyrdom; and my being driven from my land is a migration (hijrah).
مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِعِلْمٍ فَلْيَنْظُرْ: إِنْ كَانَ لِلَّهِ تَكَلَّمَ، وَإِلَّا فَلْيَسْكُتْ.
Whoever wishes to speak with knowledge, let him consider: if it is for Allah, then let him speak; otherwise, let him remain silent.
